Its location at the front of the Pyrenees mountain range allows you to contemplate more than 300 km of peaks. In good weather you can even make out, to the north, the first foothills of the Massif Central!
A high mountain tourist site, it is accessible to all types of public throughout the year. The departure of the cable car is in La Mongie at 1800 metres above sea level and allows you to reach the summit at 2877 metres in 15 minutes. Located on the Pic de Midi starry sky reserve, at night you can contemplate a sky preserved from light pollution and have stars in your eyes.
The history of the human adventure of the Pic du Midi is recounted in a dedicated museum area. To satisfy the peaks of hunger, a restaurant is available at the summit!
