%AB To clothe silence is to clothe the %EAtre—that element of mystery the artist makes his own in order to appear%in the eyes of one’s peers, under the best of circumstances, drawing attention, inspiring admiration for eloquent craftsmanship—but above all, the emotion that gives rise to a silent desire that remains unspoken.
To dress to be seen, to present oneself? Isao murmurs, whispering a few explanatory words into the ear: “Fabric is my friend, my studio confidant.” A conversation with herself slips into introspection, into the desire to attract others, perhaps even to seduce them through the secret beauty of the material, in the perfect mastery of the gesture of the pure technician who sketches her ethereal designs through dreams (?).

« L’habit ne fait pas le moine » et il s’agit bien de sculptures, échafaudées comme telles, dans l’espace, invitant le spectateur à tourner autour, à les questionner avec toute la délicatesse qui s’impose tant les apparences semblent fragiles. Aussi fragiles que les mots tout autant capables de blesser que de réconcilier. En dire peu, c’est laisser à l’œuvre toute la latitude d’une appropriation totale par l’autre. Pas de message univoque. Pas de revendication. Pas de cris. Juste le silence qui mue et qui invite à la contemplation (…).
