THEATRE PIECE: Les Figurants, by Delphine de Vigan

In films and TV series, extras are always blurred, from behind, just passing through. Both invisible and indispensable, they are part of the image, its production, its realism, but must blend into the background. To look real without being noticed. By transposing the movie set onto a theater stage, Delphine de Vigan gives them the foreground, the leading role, the front of the stage. Cécile, Orso, Bruno, Joyce and Nora meet on a film set. They are more or less directed by an overworked assistant. Little by little, the roles are reversed...
Delphine de Vigan is a novelist. "Les figurants" is her first play.
